A ceremonial opening of a new center aimed at promoting Japanese language and culture was held at the Jizzakh State Pedagogical University.

The event, held at the university’s Bog’ishamol campus, was attended by specialists from Japan, foreign guests, and the “Nagoya–Uzbekistan Friendship Society” led by Umida Ashurova.

The ceremonial opening was conducted by the university rector. In his speech, he highlighted the similarities between Japanese and Uzbek cultures, as well as the fact that Japanese language instruction as a second language has been established at the university. At the same time, it was noted that plans are underway to establish centers for Chinese and Korean languages and cultures in the future.

Speaking at the event, Umida Ashurova expressed gratitude to the university leadership for supporting this initiative, emphasizing that this center will serve to further strengthen educational and cultural ties between the two countries.

Furthermore, the guests closely examined the activities of the newly established center, inspecting the classrooms and the infrastructure enriched with Japanese-language literature. They gave high praise to the center’s facilities and shared their positive impressions.

During the ceremony, students performed a traditional Japanese tea ceremony, as well as dances and songs.
