Corruption is a dangerous disease that becomes a serious obstacle to the development of society and undermines justice and the rule of law. In particular, the crime of bribery damages the system of state governance and weakens citizens’ trust. Therefore, our legislation establishes strict liability for this act.
Bribery — is the act of a public official using his or her official position to receive, personally or through an intermediary, material valuables or a property interest in exchange for performing or not performing a specific action, which he or she must or may commit, in the interests of the person giving the bribe.
Everyone is equal before the law. Position, rank, or reputation does not exempt from liability. Every public servant must act with integrity, conscience, and responsibility. The fight against corruption is not only the task of government bodies but a common duty of the entire society.
