Tribute to the participants of the Afghan events.

The 37th anniversary of the withdrawal of troops, marking the end of military operations against international terrorism and religious extremism in Afghanistan, was commemorated in a spirit of memory and reverence.

On this day, memorial events were held in our region with the participation of representatives from various organizations and agencies. Specifically, representatives of the leadership of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University, veterans, professors, teachers, and students gathered at the Memory Garden and laid wreaths at the foot of the “Mourning Mother” monument.

During the event, the memory of our compatriots who perished in the Afghan war was honored with a minute of silence.

For the record, 1,956 young men from Jizzakh region participated in the Afghan war. Among them, 35 were killed, and 210 returned disabled.

The courage and dedication of our heroic compatriots will forever remain in the memory of our people.
