Scientific Councils of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University

The scientific councils operating at Jizzakh State Pedagogical University were established based on decisions of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Their main task is to review, evaluate, and organize the defense of dissertations for the degrees of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Doctor of Science (DSc).

A scientific council is a scientific and organizational structure established to certify highly qualified scientific personnel in a specific field of science. The council operates at the university within established procedures and timeframes. Its composition is approved by the Higher Attestation Commission.

The councils carry out the following activities

• reviewing PhD and DSc dissertations and organizing their defenses;
• conducting preliminary reviews, scientific seminars, and final discussions;
• evaluating textbooks, monographs, and scientific articles;
• making decisions based on defense results and submitting them to the Commission.

The activities of the scientific councils are based on the principles of legality, transparency, objectivity, and efficiency. Dissertation defenses are held with the participation of the academic community, ensuring the quality and openness of research.

Within the framework of the university’s scientific councils, dissertations are accepted for defense, preliminary and final reviews are conducted, qualification exam results are assessed, and candidates for awarding academic degrees are approved.
