During the council, the Rector focused on issues related to implementing the results of the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh.M. Mirziyoyev to Jizzakh region and the tasks set at the extraordinary session of the Jizzakh Regional Council of People’s Deputies.
The University Rector provided clear and analytical information about the region’s socio-economic development and development strategy based on the results of the President’s visit and the session discussions. Jizzakh region has become the territory with the fastest-growing industry in the republic. According to statistics presented at the session, investment projects worth $6.5 billion have been implemented over the past 8 years, with 45% of this share attributable to the industrial sector.
Thanks to high-income jobs in the industrial and service sectors, 310,000 people are currently employed, which was highlighted at the session as an important result related to the country’s economic development and population welfare. It was noted that agriculture has been diversified, new orchards and vineyards have been established, and fruit and vegetable plantations have been organized in desert areas, emphasizing the region’s sustainable development.
Jizzakh has increased its share in automobile manufacturing and tungsten production; about 10,000 people have been provided employment through 30 projects worth $510 million in the free economic zone. These were recognized at the session as innovative and strategically important projects. For the development of the region’s infrastructure and support for entrepreneurship, the allocation of nearly 10 trillion soums next year, the development of tourism infrastructure around Arnasoy and Aydar lakes, the expansion of airport and railway connections, and the plan to build a 10 km ring road within the city were considered the most important strategic directions at the session.
Based on these results, specific measures were defined at the session to ensure the practical implementation of the discussed issues and for the sustainable development of the region. The Rector drew the attention of the council members, stating that this information must be conveyed to every student, and added: if 16,000 students at the university are informed about these reforms, it means their families will also learn about this information.

At the council meeting, it was also announced that special attention is being paid to international relations at the university, and a special working commission has been formed to attract foreign professors and teachers. It was also noted that activities aimed at promoting reading competitions and enhancing scientific potential among professors, teachers, and students are being carried out.
