The briefing was opened by S. Nazarqasimov, the first vice-rector for youth issues, spiritual and educational affairs of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University. The briefing was continued by Inom Islamov, head of the Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute Student Accommodation Coordination Department and S. Saidakhmatov, head of the Jizzakh State Pedagogical University Student Accommodation Coordination Department. They informed the participants about the work done in the provision of accommodation for students, including the introduction of the information system for placement in student accommodation, the increase in the level of coverage with student accommodation, and the reforms such as covering a part of the students’ monthly rent.
“Today, there is a dormitory problem in almost all higher educational institutions of the republic. That’s why rents keep increasing as house prices rise. A reasonable question arises here. So, is the problem being solved? Today, Jizzakh State Pedagogical University has 9,572 full-time students (1-4 courses), of which 3,755 students have a need for accommodation, and 518 of them plan to live temporarily in the homes of relatives. As a result, 3139 people are expected to be accommodated in rented apartments, and 616 people are expected to be accommodated in student dormitories. To date, 366 students have been placed in student dormitories, 319 students have been placed in rented apartments Who is the closest student today? Obviously these are tutors. In this situation, in order to increase work efficiency, we have placed all tutors. 138 students of the 1st year were placed in student dormitories and 124 students were placed in rented apartments. Jizzakh State Pedagogical University has 2 student dormitories with a total of 616 beds. Today, they are ready to receive students. In particular, based on the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 376, a new system of placement in student residences of state HEIs has been introduced. According to it, in the 2024/2025 academic year, students of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year of the state higher educational institution should apply electronically through the billing.edu.uz website. The Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute’s Student Accommodation Coordination Department is conducting extensive work to prepare for the start of the 2024-2025 academic year, welcome students and provide accommodation in order to ensure the execution of the Decree No. PF-6208 of April “On additional measures of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “Supporting the entrepreneurial activity and employment of young people, their social protection and meaningful organization of free time” 2021 and the Decision of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-376 of September 21, 2022. In particular, assistance centers have been established in the building of the institute, and students are being accommodated in the dormitory of the institute and rented apartments in nearby areas. In cooperation with the Department of Coordination of Student Accommodation and volunteers selected from among active students of the faculties, placement and monitoring of student residences and rented apartments is being carried out. Student residence No. 1 on the territory of Jizzakh Polytechnic Institute (owned by the state) has a capacity of 560 places, student residence No. 2 (based on state partnership) has a capacity of 300 places, student residence No. 3 (based on state partnership) It has a capacity of 400 seats and is ready for the 2024-2025 academic year. Today, the institute has 3 student residences and more than 800 ready-made rental apartments.
