The students became acquainted with the activities of the penal institution.

Within the framework of implementing the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On comprehensive measures to effectively protect public health and the nation’s gene pool from drug addiction and drug-related crimes,” students of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University visited a penitentiary institution.

A visit by university students was organized to Central Colony No. 29, the third regional area of the Jizzakh Regional Department for the Execution of Sentences, located in the “A” industrial zone of Jizzakh city, Jizzakh region.

The students familiarized themselves closely with the colony’s activities and, during a roundtable discussion with inmates, directly witnessed how the consequences of drug addiction not only ruin an individual’s life but also cause serious social problems for their family, surroundings, and the entire society.

It should be recalled that on this issue, the Minister of Preschool and School Education and the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovations announced a joint appeal calling on youth, parents, and teachers to be aware of the negative consequences of drug addiction and drug-related crimes. This appeal is also being widely promoted by the Rector of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University.
