On the occasion of the 585th anniversary of the birth of Alisher Navoi, a literary evening titled “Nazm va Navo” was held at Jizzakh State Pedagogical University.

It would not be an exaggeration to say that the Palace of Culture at Jizzakh State Pedagogical University today gathered the true connoisseurs of classical music under one roof.

The artistic evening was organized on the initiative of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University in collaboration with the Jizzakh Regional Branch of the Uzbekistan State Philharmonic and the Jizzakh Regional Musical Drama Theater.

The event was opened by the Rector of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University, Maksudjan Abdullayevich Yuldashev. In his speech, he emphasized the unparalleled importance of the great thinker Alisher Navoi’s work, noting that his works are immortal across ages, and highlighted the significant role of Navoi’s legacy in enhancing the spirituality of the younger generation.

Yesterday, a number of dedicated activists who actively participated in national competitions were recognized. Among them, Z. Kasimova of the JSPU Women’s Council was also honored with a 1st degree diploma and certificate in the nomination “Most Active Chairwoman of a Women’s Council.” Today’s event began with an award ceremony. The Rector of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University congratulated Zumrad Kasimova, Chairwoman of the University Women’s Council, on this achievement and presented her with commemorative gifts and diplomas in a ceremonial manner.

Following this, the spiritual and enlightening artistic evening dedicated to the work of the great thinker Alisher Navoiy began. The evening featured the renowned vocalists and artists of the Jizzakh Regional Branch of the Uzbekistan State Philharmonic and the Jizzakh Regional Musical Drama Theater, as well as the Student Maqom Ensemble established at JSPU.

Throughout the artistic program, ghazals by Alisher Navoiy and Zahiriddin Muhammad Babur, maqom melodies, and stage performances were masterfully presented, providing the audience with profound spiritual delight.

This “Evening of Poetry and Melody” served to promote Navoi’s legacy and further strengthen the love for national literature and art in the hearts of the youth.
