Department of English Language Teaching Methods – Center for Innovative Language Teaching Technologies and Practical Approaches
The Department of English Language Teaching Methods specializes in the development and implementation of modern methods and technologies for teaching English. The educational process covers linguistic didactics, methodological theory, lesson planning, interactive methods and modern educational tools in language teaching. Students undergo thorough training in creating practical lesson plans, conducting interactive classes and using educational technologies. The scientific work of the department is aimed at developing effective methods for teaching English, applying national and international best practices in the educational process, and increasing motivation in language learning. Graduates successfully work in schools, higher education institutions, language centers and international projects.

Establishment
The Department of English Language Teaching Methods was established in 2021 on the basis of the Departments of Practical English Language Course and English Language Theory and Methodology of the faculty. The new department aims to introduce modern approaches to language teaching methods and educational technologies, integrated courses in English language teaching, language and culture, and special subject teaching methods.
Development stages
After its establishment, the department established cooperation with the British Council in Uzbekistan, the Uzbek State University of World Languages, Samarkand and Namangan State Universities of Foreign Languages. International relations were also established with the Portsmouth and Norwich Universities of Languages in Great Britain, Suleyman Demirel and Necmettin Erbakan Universities in Turkey, and Sambhram University in India. In November-December 2022, three teachers improved their qualifications in the UK. Over the past three years, 8 textbooks, 12 teaching aids, 6 monographs and more than a hundred scientific articles have been published by the professors and teachers of the department.
Today’s activities
Today, the department is conducting educational, scientific and practical work aimed at developing the methodology of teaching English and improving the professional training of students. During the educational process, students are taught subjects such as an integrated course of foreign language teaching, comparative methodology, and professionally oriented English. The department actively participates in international projects and occupies one of the leading positions in its field through scientific research.
