Open discussions with doctoral students are steadily continuing at Jizzakh State Pedagogical University.
Today, on the initiative of University Rector Maqsudjon Yuldashev, another face-to-face meeting with doctoral students — the third since the beginning of this academic year — was organized. The third-year doctoral students attended the meeting together with their academic supervisors. During the discussion, the rector personally spoke with each doctoral student, inquiring about the challenges and obstacles they face in completing their research work, as well as the support and opportunities provided by the university.

The rector also held separate discussions with doctoral students who were showing delays in their research progress or facing difficulties in the defense process. According to him, the main problems are related to the following:
-
a lack of sufficient research base and data necessary to complete the dissertation;
-
disruptions in the working process between the academic supervisor and the doctoral student;
-
a lack of methodological support during the defense process and presentation preparation.
During the meeting, the doctoral students provided updates on the current progress of their research and expressed their readiness for defense. They also emphasized the need to simplify the PhD dissertation defense process and to enhance effective cooperation with experts and advisors. Rector Maqsudjon Yuldashev personally spoke with each of the 20 doctoral students, identified specific issues, and gave clear instructions to the faculty deans, the research department, and responsible staff to address them.

The main purpose of this meeting was to ensure that the doctoral students’ research leads to practical outcomes and to eliminate bureaucratic and organizational barriers encountered during the defense process. The university administration emphasized that doctoral students can now directly convey their concerns through the relevant officials or vice-rectors. Each appeal will be personally reviewed, and responsible persons will be assigned to resolve the issues.

At the end of the meeting, the rector called on the doctoral students to be proactive, to turn their research results into practically significant developments, and to complete their defense on time and with high quality.
