Department of Technological Education and Fine Arts – a center of creative potential, practical skills and design skills

The Department of Technological Education and Fine Arts provides students with theoretical and practical knowledge in technological sciences and fine arts. The educational process covers such areas as drawing, technology, applied arts, design, painting, sculpture and art design. Students develop their creative potential by participating in practical classes, creative workshops, exhibitions and projects. The professors and teachers of the department conduct scientific research in the field of fine arts, design technologies and educational methodologies. Graduates successfully work in such professions as school and college teachers, artists, designers, interior designers, and art historians.
 



Department History

Organization

The department was established in 1977 under the name “General Technical Sciences” on the basis of the Department of General Physics. Its first head was the Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Isomiddin Jumayev, and the main focus was on the development of teaching and practical training in technical sciences. Later, the field of “Fine Arts and Engineering Graphics” was also formed and operated as an independent department. This department was headed by Associate Professor Kamoliddin Zoyirov and Senior Lecturer Pardaboy Khudoyberdiev. Starting from the 2021–2022 academic year, both areas were merged, and the current department of “Technological Education and Fine Arts” was established.
 

Development Stages

In 1978–1995, the department was headed by specialists such as Shokhisrav Obloqulov, Erkin Ergashev, Xolbuta Turaqulov, Khojamberdi Togayev, and Jorakul Nurmatov. Since 1995, experienced leaders such as Sa’dulla Ubaydullayev, Ne’matilla G’afforov, Meli Murtazoyev, Rahim Umarov, and Toychi Ismoilov have headed the department. The Department of Fine Arts and Engineering Graphics was established in 2001 by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers and was headed by Pardaboy Khudoyberdiev in the early years. In 2004–2009, merger and renaming were carried out, and in 2015–2021, Pardaboy Khudoyberdiev again headed it. Since 2021, Associate Professor Muhammad Yusupov has been heading it.
 

Current activities

The department currently employs 30 professors and teachers, 7 of whom have the title of candidate of sciences and 5 associate professors. The main areas of study are: Technological education, Fine arts and engineering graphics, Design (clothes and textiles), Color drawing (with a machine). At the master’s level, personnel are trained in the specialty “Theory and methodology of education (technological education)”. In recent years, 15 textbooks, 12 teaching aids, more than 12 monographs, and about 1,500 scientific articles have been published by members of the department. The department implements scientific and creative projects with foreign partners, such as the Mukhtar Avezov National University of Kazakhstan.

The Department of “General Technical Sciences” was established, the first head was Isomiddin Jumayev.
2001
By the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Department of Fine Arts and Engineering Graphics was established, the head was Pardaboy Khudoyberdiev.
2004
Reorganized as the Department of Fine Arts and Fundamentals of Production, young staff were involved.
2009
The department continued its activities under the name of Fine Arts and Engineering Graphics, the head was Kamoliddin Zoyirov.
2015
Pardaboy Khudoyberdiev was reappointed as the head, and worked as part of the Faculty of Art History.
2021
The Department of Technological Education and Fine Arts was reorganized, and Muhammad Yusupov was appointed as the head.
