The Department of Pedagogy and Theory of Education specializes in the study of modern pedagogical approaches, the development of the education system on a scientific basis, and the training of highly qualified pedagogical personnel. The curriculum covers the history of pedagogy, educational theory, educational management, didactics, educational work methodology, and modern pedagogical technologies. Students combine theoretical knowledge with practice and undergo pedagogical practice in schools and higher educational institutions. The department’s scientific research is aimed at improving the quality of education, introducing innovative teaching methods, and developing pedagogical diagnostics and monitoring systems. Graduates work effectively in schools, colleges, higher educational institutions, educational management, and research.

Organization
The Department of Pedagogy and Educational Theory was established in 2014 as the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology within the Faculty of Primary Education. The main goal of the department was to train specialists in the theory and history of the pedagogical process, develop pedagogical research and combine it with practice. The first head was Iroda Turakulova, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor.
Development stages
In 2014–2020, it operated as the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology, training pedagogical personnel in bachelor’s and master’s degrees. In 2020, the department was divided into two, and “Pedagogy and Educational Theory” was formed as a separate structure. During this period, the scientific potential of the department increased, foreign cooperation was established, and participation in international scientific conferences became more active.
Current activities
Currently, the department employs more than 30 professors and teachers, some of whom have a candidate of science and PhD degrees. The main direction of education is the training of masters and bachelors in the field of “Theory and History of Pedagogy”. The department team, within the framework of international cooperation, holds joint events with the Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami, Samarkand State University and a number of foreign higher educational institutions. In recent years, several monographs, textbooks and teaching aids have been published by professors and teachers.
