Department History

Establishment

The Department of Chemistry at Jizzakh State Pedagogical University was founded in 1988 and initially began its activities as the Department of General Chemistry within the Faculty of Natural Sciences. The first head was Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor Marat Sultanov. In subsequent years, the department’s activities expanded, and a system of training specialists at the bachelor’s, master’s, basic doctoral and doctoral levels was formed.

Since 2001, the direction has been divided into chemistry and biology departments, and in 2006, the direction of chemistry-ecology was opened. From 2013 to the present, it has been operating under the name of the direction of chemistry teaching methods. Among the heads of the department were such experienced scientists as Shavkat Sharipov, Ergash Shomurodov, Barot Abdurahmonov, Golib Daminov, Marat Sultanov and Kamila Rashidova.
