Department of Theory and Practice of Primary Education – a center for quality teaching and methodological approaches at the initial stage of education
The Department of Theory and Practice of Primary Education specializes in training future primary school teachers, equipping them with modern pedagogical technologies and didactic methods. The curriculum covers the basics of primary school pedagogy, teaching methodology, child psychology, organization of the lesson process, interactive methods and educational work. Students consolidate theoretical knowledge through practical exercises, school practice and innovative projects. The department’s scientific research is aimed at improving teaching methods in primary education, implementing the STEAM approach, and developing didactic materials for children. Graduates successfully work in schools as primary school teachers, methodologists and educational managers.

Organization
The history of the Department of Theory and Practice of Primary Education began in 1985 on the basis of the Department of Language and Literature of Primary Education (Linguistics), which was separated from the Department of Methodology of Primary Education. The goal of the establishment of the department was to train highly qualified teachers for primary grades, to strengthen their methodological and practical training. The first leadership was held by Associate Professor Khudoybergan Jo’rayev.
Development stages
In 1985–1991, the department was headed by Associate Professor Khudoybergan Jo’rayev, during which time 2 candidates of science and several teachers worked. From 1993 to 2005, Professor Umrzok Jumanazarov headed the department, methodological manuals were developed within the department, and the educational process was reorganized based on modern requirements. In 2005, the department was reorganized and became part of the Department of Primary Education Methodology. In February 2010, the department was restored as an independent structure and was named “Theory and Practice of Primary Education”. In the 2018–2019 academic year, the Department of Primary Education Methodology was separated from it.
Current activities
Since September 7, 2018, the department has been headed by Doctor of Philology, Professor Guljahon Jumanazarova. Currently, 20 professors and teachers work in the department, including professors Xolbuta Turaqulov, Umrzok Jumanazarov, associate professors Bakhtiyor Suvonkulov, Fazilat Ibragimova and other experienced specialists. The department also pays great attention to research work – in recent years, 8 scientific papers have been defended, 5 textbooks, 6 study guides and 17 monographs (3 of which were published abroad) have been published. Scientific circles, methodological seminars and practical trainings are regularly held with students.
