Faculty history
Establishment
The Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology at Jizzakh State Pedagogical Institute was established in 2001 as a program within the Faculty of Primary Education. In that year, students were first admitted to the “Pedagogy and Psychology” program. Initially, the program operated under the leadership of Professor H.A. Meliyev and Associate Professor R.A. Abdurasulov.
During that period, the program included fields such as Preschool Education and Music Education, functioning as a unified structure until 2016. In 2020, at the initiative of the institute’s rector, Shavkat Sharipov, the faculty was granted independent status, and through Order No. 429-U, the “Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology” was established as a separate entity.
The first dean appointed was Iroda To‘raqulova, a candidate of pedagogical sciences and associate professor.
Development Stages
The faculty’s departments were formed gradually. In 2014, the “Pedagogy-Psychology” department was established and, in 2020, was transformed into a separate department named “Theory of Pedagogical Education,” led by Associate Professor Feruza Rahmatova.
In 2018, the “General Pedagogy and Psychology” department was divided into two independent units: General Pedagogy and General Psychology. These were later integrated into the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology in 2020. The “General Psychology” department was led by Associate Professor Shirin Kamolova, while the “Special Pedagogy” department was headed by Associate Professor Rustam Abdurasulov.
Faculty professors have developed educational and methodological materials such as “Methodology of Educational Work,” “Fundamentals of Psychology,” and “Fundamentals of Inclusive Education.” Scientific and practical collaborations have been established with numerous higher education institutions across the republic.
Current Activities
Currently, the faculty operates four departments:
Theory of Pedagogical Education
