Comprehensive reforms aimed at education quality and the professional development of teaching staff are consistently ongoing at Jizzakh State Pedagogical University. Specifically, since October of this year, online English language courses conducted by foreign and local specialists for professors and teachers have been organized daily from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
Through these daily classes, nearly 300 teachers have been engaged, providing practical assistance in improving their language skills. Furthermore, to assess the effectiveness of the learning process, it is planned to conduct monitoring tests every 3 months. As a logical continuation of the reforms being implemented at the university, Saturday has been designated as “Social Activity Day”. This initiative supports the continuous professional development of teaching staff, expands students’ opportunities for independent learning, and serves to further improve the spiritual and educational environment.
“Social Activity Day” has been introduced at Jizzakh State Pedagogical University. Within the framework of this new practice, activities in the following areas were organized on Saturday:The First Half of Saturday: For Professors and Teachers – “Continuous Professional Development Day” Seminars and trainings are held with the participation of qualified trainers and experts from the republic and abroad. For Students – “Independent Learning Day” University libraries and educational resources are fully made available to students. The Second Half of Saturday: “Social Activity Day” Spiritual and educational meetings, social projects, and sports events are organized for professors, teachers, and students.
As the first event of the new practice, a seminar on the topic “Trends in the Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Higher Education System” was organized.
The event was opened by the University Rector, Professor Yuldashev Maqsudjon Abdullayevich. In his speech, the Rector emphasized that the educational process at the university has transitioned to a 5-day system, and that seminars aimed at improving the professional skills of educators will be held regularly on Saturdays.
The main speaker of the seminar was Associate Professor of the Institute for Retraining and Professional Development of Higher Education Staff, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences Venera Arkinovna Karimova, who provided detailed information on the opportunities, limitations, and security issues of artificial intelligence in education.
It is worth noting that this practice launched at the university will be continuously maintained, and it is established that every Saturday, as part of “Social Activity Day,” specialists recognized at the national level, holding honorary titles and possessing high qualifications, will be invited. The seminars, masterclasses, and open dialogues organized with their participation will serve to further enhance the knowledge and skills of both professors, teachers, and students.
