The 16th International FLTAL Conference on Foreign Language Teaching and Applied Linguistics was held at JSPU

The 16th International FLTAL Conference dedicated to foreign language teaching and applied linguistics was organized at a high level and successfully concluded. Nearly 200 local and international scholars from 25 countries participated in the event, which was opened by the Rector of the university, Maksudjan Yuldashev.

The event continued under the moderation of Professor Azamat Akbarov, who provided detailed information about the scientific significance and key directions of the conference. In addition, a congratulatory message from the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, Kungirotboy Sharipov, was presented online.

Within the framework of the conference, a number of prestigious keynote speeches were delivered, highlighting important aspects of modern linguistics and language education. In particular, Amy Thompson analyzed the relationship between personal identity and socio-political factors, while Zhu Hua focused on issues of multilingualism and equality through translanguaging and interculturality. Charlene Polio, in turn, discussed methods for developing students’ understanding of genre as well as their written and spoken communication competencies.

At the conclusion of the conference, speakers, organizers, and active participants were awarded certificates and commemorative gifts.

During the day, sectional sessions covered a wide range of аctual topics, including bilingualism and multilingualism, language learning and assessment, teacher training, the integration of artificial intelligence in education, intercultural communication, cognitive linguistics, and translation theory.
