A ceremony to honor the winners of sports competitions and esteemed professor-teachers, held on the occasion of January 14 — “Defenders of the Homeland Day,” took place at Jizzakh State Pedagogical University. The event was organized in the university’s small assembly hall.

The ceremony was attended by the university leadership, vice-rectors for various fields, winners and prize-winners of the sports competitions, combat veterans, servicemen in the reserve, members of the university Trade Union, and the Council of Veterans (“Nuroniylar”).

The event was opened by the Advisor to the Rector of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University, Gayrat O’roqboyevich Qodirov, who emphasized the essence of Defenders of the Homeland Day and highlighted the incomparable role of servicemen and veterans in ensuring the peace and security of our country.

During the ceremony, the winners of the sports competitions organized on the occasion of January 14, “Defenders of the Homeland Day,” as well as combat veterans and servicemen in the reserve, were solemnly honored.

At the end of the event, the floor was given to the Chairman of the Council of Veterans (“Nuroniylar”) of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University, Professor Hamidulla Abdullayevich Meliyev. In his speech, he congratulated the defenders of the homeland on the holiday and emphasized the great importance of such events in educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism.
