At the Jizzakh Regional Musical Drama Theatre, a performance of “Woman”, a play directed by Baxtiyor To‘rayev and based on writer Halima Ahmedova’s famous work “Half an Apple” was staged.
Students of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University also attended the performance and were deeply impressed by the artistry and stage mastery of the theater. The play vividly depicted the fate of a woman—her emotional struggles, and her fight for love and loyalty—with profound artistic expression. Through the symbol of the “half apple,” the work reflects on a woman’s unfulfilled dreams, emotions, and her place in society.

The student audience who attended the theater performance felt not only the woman’s role in life but also her inner pain conveyed through the actors’ performances. The stage play portrayed how, after her silent, inward suffering, the woman ultimately emerges as a strong and resilient figure through her willpower and patience.

The play is also noteworthy for its artistic significance. Through the work and its stage interpretation, the creative team took an important step toward exploring the inner world of women in Uzbek literature and theater. They sought to challenge certain stereotypes about women in society and to portray the image of a strong and courageous woman.

Through this play, the students not only enjoyed the art of theater but also gained a new understanding of the human spirit and the inner world of women.
