The university’s information resource center has been renovated and put into operation. The center’s opening ceremony was held today.
-The newly renovated and reopened Information Resource Center is a great opportunity for students and readers, says the university’s rector Sh. Sharipov. “I believe the Information Resource Center will attract many readers and researchers, and we will definitely get the results of our hard work.”
The opening ceremony was attended by officials of the regional administration, representatives of regional law enforcement agencies, heads of organizations, students, and honorary teachers.
The new information resource center was a festive gift for the university.
– This year was a lucky one for our university, our university celebrated its 50th anniversary, – says R. Ishnazarova, head of the university’s Information Resource Center – The old building of our Information Resource Center was designed for 250 seats. Today’s center is designed for a total of 500 readers, where new electronic reading rooms are ready for readers. An automated reading room, built on the 3rd floor and put into operation, serves students and independent users. This new automated reading room is equipped with 30 thousand publications and electronic versions of more than 40 thousand books.
The “University History” museum was opened at the Information Resource Center.
The new and fully equipped center incorporates the latest advances in information and communication technologies. It has reading rooms, discussion and computer rooms, media studios, an intelligence and cybersports room, a video network for information exchange, and a high-speed Wi-Fi network. This center has a collection of 180,000 books and can serve about 500 readers at a time.
It would not be an exaggeration to say that the opening of the “University History” museum in the information center is a gift for the educational institution celebrating its 50th anniversary and for all visitors. The museum embodies the 50th anniversary of the university. Historical manuscripts, documents related to the construction of the university, and other exhibits will undoubtedly arouse great interest among visitors.
The project estimate documents for the reconstruction of the Information Resource Center of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University were prepared by “GOLD PROJECT SERVICE” LLC. The total cost of the project is 7.28 billion. This newly renovated Information Resource Center will become an educational center serving students and faculty members by providing traditional, virtual and electronic library services based on the latest achievements of librarianship in our country. 7285.0 million soums were allocated from the university’s extrabudgetary funds for the implementation of these renovation works.
