Today, preparations for a national referendum are underway in our country.
A seminar-training was held at the Jizzakh State Pedagogical University on the topic “Legal basis of organizing a referendum in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the importance of constitutional reforms”in order to familiarize students with the changes and additions to our basic law, to further strengthen their political consciousness and legal knowledge.
At this seminar, Director of the “Institute of Democracy and Human Rights”, candidate of legal sciences, Sayyora Khodjayeva, deputy director, candidate of legal sciences, Shoira Umarova, Otkir, regional representative of the Human Rights representative of the Oliy Majlis (ombudsman) for Jizzakh region. Jorayev, Iqboloy Umarova, the head of the Jizzakh region branch of the Republican Center for Spirituality and Enlightenment, told the university students, especially those who voted for the first time in the referendum, in detail about the concept of referendum, its role and importance in a democratic state. Representatives of foreign countries and organizations who visited our country to observe the referendum on April 30, Representative Harold Otto, Secretary of the Bureau of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights Katya Andrews also participated in the seminar. They expressed their opinion on the changes taking place in our country and had a sincere conversation with the students. The seminar was held in an upbeat spirit, full of questions and answers.
