“Wide Maslenitsa” holiday was celebrated at the university.

Today, February 24, the Russian national holiday “Shirokaya Maslenitsa” was celebrated by the team of the faculty of Russian language and literature and the initiative of students. The event was opened by the dean of the faculty E.R. Hasanov and in his speech welcomed the gathered and noted that peace, inter-ethnic harmony and religious tolerance in our country allow such holidays to be held at a high level. He also expressed confidence that the upcoming national holiday of the peoples of the East – Nowruz – will be celebrated in a cheerful spirit.

After that, the head of the Jizzakh region branch of the Center of Russian Culture, A.I. Skripkin, spoke about the history of “Shirokaya Maslenitsa”, the essence and importance of customs and traditions related to its celebration. Russian national songs, artistic performances of faculty students gave special freshness to the festival.

A.I. Skripkin and T.A.Kizenkolar, the head of the department of the center of Russian culture of Jizzakh region, invited to the holiday, objectively evaluated the table decorated with Russian national dishes, Russian national clothes and wall newspapers depicting the Maslenitsa holiday.

According to the results of this competition, the students of group 723-22 took the 1st place, the students of group 721-22 took the 2nd place, and the students of group 720-20 took the 3rd place.
