WHO IS THE MENTOR?

Find out about a good listener and communicator with deep knowledge and experience in his field, a confident person who is ready to help you!

Any great success starts with the first step. The correctness of the first step and the perfection of plans are associated with the skill of the teacher. The mentor gives advice based on his experience. His experience is based on mistakes. More precisely, such people can be called “mentors” in modern language. So who is a mentor? What tasks do they perform in teacher education?

Information about this is contained in the order of the university rector “On further improvement of the system of individual work with gifted students.” Jizzakh State Pedagogical University, one of the first higher educational institutions of the republic, introduced a “mentor institute” for freshmen entering the 2023-2024 academic year.

Together with the students assigned to them, mentors participate in republican and international scientific Olympiads, intellectual games and various competitions, prepare to receive state scholarships named after the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, participate in scientific, creative, scientific circles, and work with startups. Engage in projects, the republic and participate in international conferences, together prepare to study the IT sphere and modern professions.

When a student enters a university, he needs an experienced “guide” to organize his future activities, what he needs to master for his future achievements, and with whom he works. Mentors are people who answer questions in a given situation. They work with the student individually.

Now one day a week is organized as a “mentor day” in each department. On this day, the mentor and the student assigned to him determine the work on scientific and creative activities, plans and goals. The Department of Organization of Research Activities of Gifted Students actively supports the work of talented youth with mentors.

Of course, the use of modern methods and the best foreign experience in education will improve the quality of education and free-thinking of young people. Luiza AKHMEDOVA, Engineer of the department for organizing research activities of gifted students.
