On November 26, 2020, the signing Ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding between Jizzakh State Pedagogical Institute and the University of Portsmouth, UK on the establishment of cooperation, exchange of experience between the two universities, the development of promising cooperation was held online via ZOOM platform.

The Ceremony began with an introductory conversation between the Rector of Jizzakh State Pedagogical Institute Sharipov Shavkat Safarovich  and  the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Portsmouth Chris Chang, UK. The parties provided information about their universities, noting that the signing of the Memorandum is necessary for both parties, especially for students and teachers.

The Memorandum provides for the establishment and development of direct contacts between the Higher Education Institutions of the two countries, the exchange of educational materials, the promotion of joint research and the publication of scientific papers with the participation of the parties. Areas such as publishing articles in magazines have been identified as key areas of bilateral cooperation. The Memorandum also allows JSPI to allow professors to use the University of Portsmouth library and e-resource center, to send professors and teachers to training courses at the University of Portsmouth, to develop curricula, study programs, master’s programs in the credit-module system. Proposals such as discussion of joint programs, participation in conferences and seminars were considered in detail, and the Memorandum was signed which was approved by representatives of both universities.
