The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation organized an economic training on the topic “Fighting corruption and preventing corruption risks in the education system.”

In order to fulfill the tasks and functions assigned to state bodies — in particular, to improve the system for assessing corruption-related risks arising in the higher education system, to introduce integrity standards, to increase the effectiveness of ongoing work in the sector, to further expand the scope of open data on important social issues, and to ensure their unrestricted use — an economic briefing was organized. During this briefing, the priority tasks to be implemented in continuing to create a corruption-free environment in our country, as well as the issues of increasing the personal responsibility of ministers and rectors of higher education institutions in this regard, were discussed. These were outlined at the meeting of the National Council on Combating Corruption held on March 5, 2025, by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The meeting was attended by rectors, department heads and responsible employees of all higher education institutions in our republic via the Zoom electronic platform. The Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation S. Buzrukhonov opened the event with an introductory speech and informed the meeting participants about the topic and the work being carried out by the ministry to combat corruption. Also, the responsible employee of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan I. Ochilov, and the teacher of Tashkent State Law University, Doctor of Law S. Niyozova made their reports on the topic. The importance of the reports and information provided to the employees for their activities at the event was recognized, and future tasks were set. The team of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University also participated in the meeting.
