“Reading Week” has begun at JSPU.
In recent years, organizing ‘Reading Week’ every April has become a tradition.

At the event held on the topic ‘Books – The Cultural and Spiritual Wealth of a Nation,’ the First Vice-Rector for Youth Affairs and Spiritual-Educational Work, S. Nazarqosimov, and others spoke, highlighting the great attention being paid in our country to enhancing the spiritual-intellectual potential, consciousness, and worldview of our people, especially the younger generation, and raising them with love and loyalty to their Motherland.

Based on the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated February 14, 2020, ‘On Approving the National Program for the Development and Support of Reading Culture for 2020-2025,’ starting from 2021, the first week of April each year has been designated as ‘Reading Week.’ During the week, events such as ‘Open Door Day,’ book exhibitions, and the ‘One Book a Week’ campaign are organized. In order to promote the tradition of family reading, especially among the youth, competitions like ‘Best Reading Family,’ ‘Best Reading Teacher,’ and ‘Best Reading Student’ are held.

“At the event, a theatrical musical program was presented to the attendees. Talented youth performed national dances, songs, and music. An exhibition of newly published books was also organized. The Reading Week will continue until April 15th, and during the week, book exhibitions, competitions, meetings with creators, reviews of new literature, artistic and musical evenings, and the campaign ‘I Will Donate a Book to My Favorite Library’ will be held.
