Universiade-2024: The Tashkent region team won the belt wrestling competitions held in Jizzakh.
As previously reported, the belt wrestling competitions, which were part of the Universiade sports program, were held at the Jizzakh regional sports school specializing in single combat sports.

In total, about 100 wrestlers from 12 regions, the city of Tashkent and the Republic of Karakalpakstan competed for victory in the weight categories of 55, 60, 66, 73, 81, 90, +90 kg. In short, the strongest and most talented athletes from the republic were selected for the final stage.

The Tashkent region team took first place in the overall team standings in the competition, which was organized at a high level in cooperation with the Jizzakh regional administration, the Student Sports Association of Uzbekistan, the Jizzakh regional Main Department of Youth Policy and Sports, and the Uzbekistan Belt Wrestling Federation. The second place was taken by students from Fergana region, and the third place went to student-athletes from Namangan.

After the competitions, an award ceremony was held for the winners and prize-winners. The winning and prize-winning student athletes were awarded with diplomas, medals, and valuable souvenirs.
