It is necessary for a student of chemistry education to collect 30 credits during one semester and 60 credits per academic year. The duration of study is 4 years, and the student must pay 240 credits before the completion of the program.

The amount of one ECTS credit in hours for a student is 1 credit 30 academic hours, and the student’s one-year study load consists of 60 credits 1800 academic hours. Of this, 50% will be classroom hours, 50% will be divided into independent study hours. The volume of credits to be mastered by the student during the semester includes compulsory and optional subjects indicated in the catalog of subjects.

  • work as a methodologist, specialist and other positions in the ministries, branch departments and institutions that carry out education in the appropriate educational directions;
  • working as a junior researcher in scientific and research organizations in the field of exact and natural sciences;
  • work in local self-government bodies and local centers of spirituality and enlightenment;
  • in production areas, pedagogy and technology of professional education, development and implementation of didactic teaching tools.

Graduates of the field of chemical education can continue their studies within the specified period of time in master’s specialties determined by the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The content of subject

The purpose of teaching science — to teach students the theoretical foundations of knowledge of organic chemistry, basic concepts of organic chemistry, basic laws, naming organic substances, methods of their preparation, physical and chemical properties, types of reactions occurring in organic compounds and their mechanisms, to develop the skills of application and implementation of this practice.

Fanining vazifasi — teaching students the general principles and approaches used to evaluate the structure and properties of substances that form the basis of the synthesis and analysis of organic substances and to understand the mechanisms of reactions, teaching students the skills of teaching topics that form the basis of organic chemistry, forming a natural-scientific outlook based on the interdependence of natural sciences, working with organic substances, experimenting, compliance with safety regulations, solving chemical problems, formation of knowledge and skills in the correct understanding of ecological problems, having knowledge about organic compounds that are widely used in various fields of the national economy (technology, medicine, everyday life), formation of knowledge and skills necessary for mastering the main specialty disciplines (methodology of teaching chemistry, chemistry and ecology) in students of organic chemistry

  • – historical stages of formation and development of general chemistry;
  • – further advances in chemistry;
  • – about theoretical issues of chemistry, including the quantum mechanical interpretation of the structure of atoms and molecules;
  • – development and general description of the concept of chemical bonding;
  • – chemical thermodynamics, kinetic and thermodynamic laws of chemical processes;
  • – oxidation-reduction reactions and laws of electrolysis;
  • – theory of electrolytic dissociation and hydrolysis processes;
  • – introduction to organic chemistry and its main features;
  • – D. I. Mendeleev’s periodic system, the structure, extraction and properties of simple and complex substances of the main and additional groups of elements;
  • – knowledge of quantum mechanical theories of the structure of atoms and molecules and their solution to practical problems;
  • – correctly solving the main problems of ecology using the theoretical knowledge of chemistry;
  • – determining the appropriate place of general chemistry in society;
  • – apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in the laboratory;
  • – the ability to effectively use the obtained substances.

Brief description of the field of the education:

General chemistry is intended for undergraduate chemistry students. This course includes an introduction to chemistry, the history of the development of general chemistry and the development of chemistry in Uzbekistan, the basic concepts and laws of chemistry, the main classes of inorganic compounds, D. I. Mendeleev’s periodic law of elements and the periodic system of chemical elements, modern theories of atomic structure and chemical bonding, chemical kinetics and chemical equilibrium, energetics of chemical processes, solutions and their properties, electrolyte solutions and oxidation-reduction reactions, basic theories of organic chemistry and coordination chemistry course are presented in a consistent manner. Thorough mastery of the science, along with knowledge of theoretical materials, serves as a skill for students during their pedagogical practice and post-graduation work.
