The roots of the Faculty of Natural Sciences trace back to the Chemistry-Biology Faculty established in 1996. The first dean of this faculty was Ergash Baitovich Shomurodov, a candidate of chemical sciences. From 1998, Khudargan Mavlonov, a doctor of biological sciences and professor, led the faculty, during which training programs in chemistry, biology, and geography were established.<\/p>\n
In its initial phase, general education departments in the Natural Sciences direction were attached to the faculty, providing services to all other faculties of the institute. The faculty’s name has changed several times over the years\u2014from \u201cChemistry-Biology Faculty\u201d to \u201cNatural Sciences Faculty,\u201d and now it operates under the name \u201cFaculty of Natural Sciences.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2011, G\u2018ayrat O\u2018roqboyevich Qodirov, a candidate of biological sciences and associate professor, was appointed dean of the faculty, leading it until 2015. In that year, Lola Sanayeva took over, followed by Ulug\u2018bek Khudanov from 2016.<\/p>\n
From 2022 to 2023, the faculty was temporarily led by senior lecturer Bakhtiyor Zikirov. Since 2023, Zuhra Ziyatovna Yakhshiyeva, a doctor of chemical sciences and professor, has served as dean. She is a highly regarded scholar in her field, actively participating in scientific councils at the national level.<\/p>\n
The number of departments within the faculty has grown over the years, with reorganizations taking place among them. Research topics have primarily focused on studying natural and technogenic objects, encompassing IT and pedagogical technologies.<\/p>\n

The faculty educates nearly 1,500 students, over 50 master\u2019s students, and doctoral candidates. Faculty professors collaborate scientifically with prestigious institutions such as the National University of Uzbekistan, Tashkent State Pedagogical University, and Samarkand State University.
